Answer
Sensors that are destined to be installed in a location where moisture is present are shipped in vacuum sealed packing if requested by your organization.
A qualified technician has tested the sensor and vacuum sealed it in order to keep it dry.
The batteries are already installed, which will cause some activity to be recorded while the sensor is en route to your location. Alert notifications for the sensor have been paused while in transit, so this activity will not be relevant until the sensor has been installed at your location and the alert notifications resumed.
When you receive the sensor:
- Remove it from the shipping box but DO NOT remove it from the vacuum packaging.
- Install the sensor with its vacuum packaging in the equipment where it is to be installed (see Installing Sensors).
- Resume alert notifications once the sensor is in installed (see Pausing and Resuming Sensor Alert Notifications).
It is recommended that you remove the sensor from the equipment while it is being cleaned, pausing notifications while it is not installed.
