Can we have a backup sensor to use if a sensor fails?

  • Updated

Answer

Yes, you can purchase one or more backup sensors for your location to have on hand in the event one of your sensors fails and needs to be replaced immediately:

  • The cost of a backup sensor is the same as a new sensor.
  • Once you receive the backup sensor, you will:
    • Assign it to any piece of equipment.
    • Decommission the sensor so it no longer appears on Dashboard.
  • There is no cost for monitoring a sensor while not in use (i.e., while it is decommissioned).
  • Once you need the sensor, you will:
    • Install the backup sensor in the same unit as the failed sensor and then recommission it.
    • Decommission the failed sensor and uninstall it.
  • Once the sensor is in use (i.e., recommissioned), monitoring costs will be the same as for any other sensor.

All sensors come with a one-year warranty that starts on the date of purchase. This includes the backup sensor.
