How do I troubleshoot a disconnected Thermapen Blue probe?

  • Updated

Answer

To troubleshoot a Thermapen™ Blue probe that was previously connected to the Mobile App but is no longer connected, carry out the following (after each step, test to see if the probe is working in a Mobile App checklist):

  1. Is the probe turned on (i.e., the probe is extended)?
    • If not, extend the probe and watch for a flash of the LEDs.
  2. Is the probe active in the Mobile App?
    • If active, tap the probe name, and then tap Deactivate Probe. Tap again on the probe name, and then tap Activate Probe.
    • If not active, is it Available?
      • If it is available, tap on the name and then tap Activate Probe. Allow the probe to become active.
      • If it is not available, tap Search to try and locate the probe.
    • See Connecting a Digital Probe to the Mobile App.
  3. Is Bluetooth enabled on the tablet?
    • Tap Settings > Connections and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
      • If not, enable Bluetooth.
  4. Are other devices paired with the tablet? There should be no paired devices.
    • Tap Settings > Connections > Bluetooth:
      • If a paired device exists, tap the settings icon (cog) to the right of the device, tap Unpair at the bottom of the screen, and then tap Unpair on the confirmation message that appears. The device is removed from Bluetooth pairings.
  5. Do the batteries need replacing?
  6. Is Probe Control Active for the tablet's location?
