Browsing the Help System

Help System Organization

Help information is provided through articles, each of which typically covers a single topic, or several closely linked topics (e.g., this article).

  • Related articles are collected and grouped into a section (e.g., Using the Online Help System⏵, which contains this article).
    • Related sections are collected and grouped together into a category (e.g., Getting Help⏵, which contains the Online Help System section, which contains this article).
      • Categories are collected and grouped into a guide that contains other related categories (e.g., CM User Guide⏵).

Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs are the path you have taken to get to the page you are viewing. Breadcrumbs are located at the top of the page below the search bar:

  • If the active page is a category, the breadcrumbs are Guide / Category.
  • If the active page is a section or article, the breadcrumbs are Guide / Category / Section.

Clicking on a crumb takes you to home page for that crumb.

Categories

Categories are accessed from the home page of a guide:

When you click on a category, the home page for that category appears:

A category page includes the following:

  • The navigation bar and search bar at the top of the page.
  • The breadcrumbs (path) leading to the page.
  • A list of Categories available in the guide.
  • Sections available in the category:
    • Each section shows up to the first six articles in that section.

Sections

Sections are accessed from the category page by clicking either of the following:

  • The section name
  • The See all # articles link at the end of the list of articles in the section, where # is the total number of articles in the section.

When you click on a section link, the section page appears:

A section page includes the following:

  • The navigation bar and search bar at the top of the page.
  • The breadcrumbs (path) leading to the page.
  • A list of Categories in the guide.
  • A list of all articles in that sections.
  • A link to Follow the section (only for registered Advanced Help System users). 

Articles

Articles are accessed from links located on the home page of a guide, category, or section, as well as links located on other articles. When an article link is clicked, the article appears:

An article page includes the following around the top and sides of the article, itself:

  1. The navigation bar and search bar at the top of the page.
  2. The breadcrumbs (path) leading to the article.
  3. The title of the article.
  4. A reference to when the article was Created or last Updated.
  5. A list of topics covered In this article.
  6. A link to Follow the articles (only for registered Advanced Help System users).
  7. An ordered list of Articles in this section.

After the article, you will find the following:

  • Links to the Previous Article and Next Article:

  • Feedback links to let us know if the article was helpful or not, as well as the opportunity to Submit a request for additional help:

  • Links to Related articles and Recently viewed articles:
