Clearing Browsing Data (A/K/A Cache)

Why Clear and What to Clear

The reason your occasionally need to clear browsing data from your system is because something is conflicting with the Mobile App or Server App, either preventing them operating properly or efficiently, or causing them to lock up or crash. 

You basically need to clear three things when you are clearing your browsing data:

  1. Cached images and files
  2. Cookies and other site data
  3. Browsing history

You do not need to clear passwords and other sign-in data. In fact, we recommend against it as it could make your system harder to use until you rebuild this data (do you remember every password you setup?).

How to Clear Browsing Data

The instructions for clearing browsing data strictly depends on which browser you are using, and on what operating system you are using it.

Instead of putting all those instructions here, we are providing links to the Websites of each browser so you can follow their instructions, and read through their tips, tricks, and cautionary tales. If you need help clearing your browsing data, all of these companies have online help you can access.

If you experience any issues with the above links, you can easily find the information online by typing "clear cache in [name of browser]" in your browser's search field, and then looking at the top results. It is always best to choose the manufacturer's site (e.g., Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari, Mozilla for Firefox, Microsoft for Edge, and Opera) to make sure you get the most accurate and current information about clearing your browsing data.
