Viewing Triggered Sensor Alerts

  • Updated

With the exception of the menu items at the beginning of this article, all sample screen images are taken from the Server App. Screens in the Mobile App have the same information and similar flow as those in the Server App, but their layout is modified to accommodate the narrow screen of a smart device where the Mobile App is installed.

Triggered alerts can be accessed by any of the following methods:

  • On the Dashboard, tap/click RESOLVE ALERT on the sensor card:

  • In the Server App, clicking Notifications > Sensor Alerts > Triggered Alerts (this is actually the default view for the Notifications menu):

  • In the Mobile App, tap the Dashboard icon, then Notifications > Sensor Alerts > Triggered Alerts (this is actually the default view for the Notifications menu):

The default page that appears is the Sensor Alerts page, filtered to show alerts where a Corrective Action is Needed:

There is an Actions menu that allows you to change what alerts you are viewing on this page:

  • Show All refreshes the list to include all triggered alerts, regardless of whether the alert is active or closed.
  • Show Corrective Needed refreshes the list to include all triggered alerts where a corrective action has not been added, regardless of whether the alert is active or closed.
  • Show All Active refreshes the lists to include all alerts where the Closed box is not checked.
  • Add Corrective to Multiple opens the Resolve Device Alert form, allowing you to apply a corrective action to all alerts currently requiring a corrective action but do not have one posted. You can also change the Closed status for those alerts.

For all alerts, the following information is provided:

  • The Location of the sensor.
  • The Alias and Device ID for the sensor.
  • The Condition that triggered the alert.
  • The date and time the alert was Triggered at.

Information about the resolution of the alert depends on the status of the alert and how it was resolved. For all resolutions, the following information is provided:

  • The date and time the alert was Handled on (a/k/a, Closed).
  • By what method it was closed:
    • Notifications means that the alert was closed after the notifications process was completed.
    • [User Name] means the alert was closed manually.
    • Alert Pause means alert notifications for the sensor were paused at the group or location level when the alert was triggered.
    • Sensor Pause means alert notifications for the sensor were paused when the alert was triggered.
  • A Description of the resolution.
  • A link to Edit the resolution information.

If a corrective action has not been added to the alert and one is required, the resolution information section is replaced with an Add Corrective Action link that opens the corrective action form:
